We've been trying to simulate a red shift that we get when we have match
prints printed. The red on our in house Fuji proofer is much more vibrant
and blue than the matchprint. We would like to simulate the matchprint on
the Fuji and thought that using the Colorsync proof option would do it. It
doesn't.

Does anyone have a suggestion for achieving this? We've even used Monaco's
profiler software to build link profiles but can't apply them-seems you need
Monaco color plug-in for that.

There are other more subtle shifts between the Fuji print and matchprint which
we are hoping will be simulated as well.

You can use a device link profile in only a handful of apps at this
point. Photoshop is not one of them. But you really shouldn't need a device
link profile. Depending on which Fuji printer you are using and print driver
(export plug-in) or RIP will really tell us if you are printing RGB of CMYK.
If you are trying to simulate CMYK (Matchprint) on a RGB device (i.e.
Pictography) you may not get the results you are looking for because of
gross difference in color primaries and color models.
In any event you want to be converting to your Matchprint profile using
perceptual and then converting again to your proofer (in-house printer)
using a colormetric rendering intent so colors are skewed but merely
translated. Essentially you are dumbing down the Fuji to match the color
characteristics of the Matchprint profile. This should get you closer color
match but this largely depends on your personal color tolerance level.
