Ah Henrick, your Kung-Fu is truly very powerful. I gain much through
your wisdom. Perhaps I was mislead by a weaker sensi. This aside my
profiling software manual recommends that no changes be made to original
scanner settings so I believed it. I would like to know what other
scanning software packages allow this. This makes all the sense in the
world to me. I am still not without doubts however. If I am to believe
what the creators of the IT8.7 standard state. Than the profile is
really only valid for the material that target was created on. That
means a profile for every film or material I'm scanning. The profile is
really a reaction of my specific scanner to the particular ink or dye
set that is used in say fujichrome. Assuming that this never changes.
I would think it should not.. Than profiling is viable. Behold I am
converted can I get a witness. However it of little use since 80% of
what I scan are color negs and the rest being mainly Fuji chrome. Alas
all have are Kodak IT8's. So many toys so little money.
