I guess I'm like a dense chrome, the detail is there, It's just too dark to see.
I made some profiles for my scanner using a couple of "high end" (expensive at any rate )
softwares that used an IT8 target.
I viewed the profiles in one of those 3D point plots and it showed what one would expect,
that the size and shape of the scanners sensitivity is big enough to support any of the color spaces
and output devices that I'm likely to be using, this is good.
I suppose in a fully implemented color managed workflow the file would be tagged with this
profile so the rest of the system would know where it's coming from, the scanner software I use
doesn't have this capability. I just open into Photoshop and the file will from then on be in
Adobe "98 color space and thusly tagged as well.
So
1). What would I see that would make me want to use the scanner profile
2). Where would I apply the profile to remedy whatever
It certainly seems I'm already getting the best a scan can get.
