I am also having the banding problem in some gradation areas. When I view a
4/c B/W (full range blk and ghosted cmy) it s/b a smooth white to gray to
blk however it looks rainbowed (some bands of blueish, pinkish and green).
Swopping monitor profiles changed the appearance of the banding but the
banding was still there. Is it possible to over edit a profiles preview to
the degree as to cause banding and rainbowing?
ALSO
I have to heavily edit both the scanner profile and the preview of the
output profile (in my case its the Creo Spectrum hardware with Imation
material driven by Prinergy)
I'm using the Crosfield 636 with a Highwater Mac interface into PhotoShop
5.5. We are using the Hutcheson scanner settings for RGB scanning (trash the
Black, the mode change to RGB) to acquire a raw RGB to be profiled. We have
our high end Mac's running on OS 9.1 using PhotoShop 6.0.1 (now back to
using 5.5) with PressView and LaCie 22 blue monitors.
Does anyone else have to edit scan results and output profile previews?
Thanks
Bruce
