I'm looking for recommendations for tools that allow me to fine-tune
a newsprint
CMYK press profile (rendering only). In a perfect world I'm editing
the profile
with an image on screen in Photoshop 6.0.
'Rendering' I assume means the printing table (Perceptual - B2A0) of
the print profile, and not the proofing table (Relative Colorimetric
/ Absolute Colorimetric - B2A1)?
Any copy of Linocolor 6, whether Elite or Full Version, will edit the
Perceptual table in full WYSIWYG using the Linocolor editing tools,
and save the edits back into the profile. As you scan on a Topaz,
this is by far the easiest and cheapest way, and arguably the most
powerful around short of ColorBlind Edit. If you scan in Newcolor,
which I'm starting to explore, you can edit other parts of the
profile, from the way it looks.
