Well, I would like to point out that Scitex CT does support embedding of
ICC profiles, check out:

OK, this is the point where I usually put my foot in my mouth and
don't mention the Helios workaround. But also keep in mind that
a. Photoshop 6 grays out 'Embed Color Profile' when you select Scitex
CT for Save As format.
b. Linocolor 6 grays out 'Embed Profile' when you select Scitex CT
for Save As format.
This means that the ICC-enabled applications that support Scitex CT
can't hand off Scitex CT with the destination ICC color space
embedded. We have to manually forward the destination ICC profile
with the image, or the receiver has to know what destination profile
was used and then apply that as source.
BTW as we have talked about the Helios solution for Mac OS X Server
1.1 here on the List after DRUPA, and are warming up for PDF
workflows, I hope you are still looking to bring the power of Helios
to the new Mac OS ?
