Epson and ColorSync

  • Subject: Epson and ColorSync

I havn't been doing much printing recently from PS 6.1 with our 1160 on Mac 8.6 ColorSycnc 2.6 besides snapshots and the color for those is very good using the Epson Standard profile, Source Space as Document checked and Print Space Profile with Printer Color Management checked.

Now I am trying to make some 8x10 prints of studio product shots for a presentation to a potential client. The prints aren't matching my monitor (calibrated w. ProveIt) well enough in this critical test. I am experimenting a lot with different profiles built with Profiler RGB, but it seems I have to make a new set of profile tests for each studio shot. These are digital files (Fuji S1).

My main question is, are my settings in the Epson Dialog box correct?

1) Source Space: Document

2) Print Space, Profile: Printer Color Management.

3) Advanced, Color Sync, Perceptual, and then the particular Profile.

Second, If they are correct, are there any other combinations of the above settings which might work better?

Third, is it just the nature of a studio product shot to be difficult to print because of limited color combinations compared to typical snapshots?

Thanks
