Embedded profiles & CD-R's

Hello,

I have been noticing a reoccurring problem when writing images saved with an
embedded profile to CD-R.

Some background info:

I use a Mac (OS 8.6) with Photoshop 6.0.1 in Adobe RGB 1998 (embedding the
profile) and Toast 4.1.2 to write the CD in ISO 9660 format.

When I try to open the CD on a Sony laptop (Windows 98SE) with Photoshop
6.0.1 I get an error notice that states "Could not open "File" because an
unexpected end of file was encountered".

When trying to open the same CD on the Mac, the file opens, but the image
contains horizontal lines (parts of the image) and is corrupted.

If I open the original file and resave it without embedding the profile and
rewrite the file to the same CD disk, it opens fine on both platforms.

I have experienced this on a number of ocassions now and the problem always
goes away if the files don't contain embedded profiles.

Any ideas as to what's going on here and how to write files to CD with an
embedded profile?

Thanks,

Ralph Tomaccio
