I didn't mean to minimize the BaseLin feature (to be honest, I've created a
bunch of good profiles before ever messing with this feature). I've done a
bit more testing of this and it seems to be beneficial. The process is not
very intuitive since there is no clear cut way of determining where the
individual ink limits should be set. For example, my assumption would be
that as long as I'm seeing some sort of density increase in an ink that I
would not limit the ink at that step. When it stops increasing, that's the
limit and any less than that would limit the available color gamut. What
I've come to understand in my own mind is that when the ink starts to "taper
off" a bit in it's density increase, that's probably where I should set the
limit for that ink. I just hope this is the right approach.

Yes, if a profile was created with a specific BaseLin file and total ink
limit, they are in effect forever "linked" to each other. I just didn't want
somebody to think the software would somehow "know" what baseline goes with
what profile without using the ProfileKeeper application.

Kids, get away from there! :-)
Cheers,
