While we can all agree that applying linearizations is complicated by
nomeclature + the UI, nonetheless the resulting profile should have smoother
grid point steps. Profiling without linearizing is simpler but not is good.
Linearize functions are like what a screwdriver was to the old Hell scanners
when you hand adjusted the pre-amps for gray balance. Best could give us a
few more indications on suggested limits (indicated in the ink limit
dialouge box) but it's wildly varying target that it would be misleading.
