Epson 5500 + RIP?

I thought I was in the market to get an Epson 5500 and a Fiery RIP for our
art department... and got the budget approval... only to find out the Epson
is not shipping (at least yet) a RIP for the printer.

Is it worth it to wait for Epson to iron out the issue... should I go for a
software RIP to run the thing or 'settle' for the Epson 5000 + RIP?
