As Barry Gorrell said, the cost of a small PC box to run a software RIP
already existing i.e.; BestColor XL will turn your 5500 into a pretty decent
proofing machine with all the features of a hardware RIP on a network if
using Windows 2000. If you prefer a limited feature set you can run
BestColor Designer Edition 1.1 on a Mac with the 5500. There are some
questions as to the problems of metamerism with the Epson inks which are
present on all the new Epson models.
