Hopefully David will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the correct
procedure would be to first specify (or create new? if possible)
paper-type setting, then calibrate using ColorWise Pro Tools. Once
calibrated, using the MatchCopy simulation options ensures that
calibration is being applied which is what you would use to print out
your profile target, after making the profile target it would be possible
to upload the resulting ICC profile.
I would assume that using any inkjet profile uses "MatchCopy" behavior
(calibration on), instead of "None" behavior (no calibration).
If you don't have the means to update calibration first, which would be
ideal, you could just specify paper-type and MatchCopy and make a profile
in the existing, questionable, condition of the inkjet printer
(questionable since it isn't recently calibrated but is still using a
calibration file).
