My question is: Doesn't a different profile need to be created for

relative or absolute rendering intent is used?
If you wish to "paint" the paper color (say a newsprint gray, or aart paper
biege) on bright white proofing stock, that requires AbCol out to the
printer, as well as back for the preview. If you use that gray or biege
paper, obviously you don't want to color the background again with ink, so
this requires RelCol out, but you still want a choice of AbCol back to see
the resulting paper tone.
So it matters twice, (the printing table, and the previewing table) and each
should be independant of the other. The Rel and Ab intents are actually the
same tables, but with the whitepoint adjusted.
