Are the cmyk ink standards different in SWOP and Euroscale?
The inks can be different but more importantly are the process methods. Here
we're using almost exclusively positive printing films and in America
negative printing. I find the paper has a better appearance for lwc stock in
Europe so even with correct separations it looks better in European
magazines. As for sheet fed the American glossy brochures are equal, often
better. In the end it's more about the paper stock and process that
influences the appearance than the slight differences in inks. This is only
my opinion and simplistically realistic in view of the challenges of the
press operators.
