Hmmmmm.... I've got a G4/V8 (Quicksilver) running 9.2.1, and use OptiCal
to generate monitor profiles. I also have two monitors, one, a Sony CRT,
runs off the NVIDIA 3 card that came with the Mac, and the other, an
Apple 15" LCD Studio Display, gets it's video from an ATI Radeon in one
of the PCI slots. I have both NVIDIA and ATI drivers loaded, and have
never had any problem with driver conflicts or odd cursors. Since I
profile with a DTP 92USB which doesn't work on the LCD, the Studio
Display (my pallet monitor) only uses the canned profile from Apple.
The only video catastrophe on my new system was when I ran an ATI ROM
upgrade a month or so ago, that fried the ATI card. ATI responded with
an overnight hot-swap of the card, admitting that their newly released
ROM upgrade destroyed their card in the process. The only problem was
that it took about three days to get through to ATI tech through their
Orwellian e-support system.
