Thanks for the response Tony. As I said earlier, now once re-installed there
are no problems at all. How one finds the boxed cursor problem solution is a
minor glitch for between the big companies, therefore we shouldn't expect
any sudden interest by them to announce a fix. There are reports on the
various forums including Apple discussion, MacFixit, MacIntouch, Accelerate
your Mac, etc. In Europe both the full package of Nvidia AND ATI drivers are
installed on a default clean install/restore regardless if there is a
presence of an ATI card or not. Glad to hear you have no problems with the
two together, as if one wants the deep sleep function the only choice is a
PCI ATI plus the AGP of choice. From memory the problems with the two affect
monitor resolution (for Sony W900), stuttering DVD play back , black screen,
strange coloration in mostly OpenGL screens but some GIF's. Again since the
boxed cursor is a minor problem how would we even know if they (who?) are
aware of the rare problem for us profiling monitors?
