we use about 20 Purup-Eskofot 2024 scanners for our b/w work. I think it is
marketed as a copydot scanner but it does b/w or RGB contone too. it scans
up to 20 x 24". these are very fast machines and built like tanks. expensive
too.
is the DuPont 1875 the one where the whole scan bed slides into a big
cabinet? driven by a Unix station? I ran one of those once. when the shop
moved to a new building the owner left it there to be hauled off to the
boneyard, even though it still worked fine, because of the size and because
DuPont abandoned the product. I think the owner paid about $US250,000 new.
ouch.
