I have been reading a lot lately in regards that it is not a good idea to
work in the "camera profile" as my working space but to convert it to
another more known space like Adobe RGB or Don RGB etc.
When I compare my dcam profile in a 2d graph as compared to Adobe RGB or DON
RGB, my Dcam space is still larger. What would you then recommend? I only
scan in 8bit mode to so I read there are some issues when working with 8bit
scans in a wide gamut workspace like Don RGB.
Then on top of this there is the issue of the output profile. Why would I
want to edit my scan in a very large working space when my printer space is
much smaller. Then I assume I would have to do a perceptual rendering when
converting from input to output profile. I have recently converter over to
a complete rgb>rgb workflow using rgb output profiles as opposed to cmyk
output profiles. and then ripping the file through best color. My results
have been quite nice.
