I'm not sure you can say "necessary", but I find that a nonUV filtered
spectro reading such a paper gets less neutral readings in the paper toned
patches than one with such filtration (or one that didn't emit UV in the
first place). This means that at the very least the preview needs to have
the white point edited, or checking "paper white" in Photoshop's proofing
view will show an inappropriate paper tone.
