I use the devices you're asking about on a G4. My DTP-92 is an older one
that gets power from the ADB bus. Some use a separate power adapter. I use
iMate to plug the DTP-92 into for power (and for ADB dongles on my software
that pre-dates USB Macs). I have a PCI card that provides both SCSI and two
serial ports. The serial ports are used for the data connection on the
Digital SwatchBook and DTP-92. Sorry, I can't remember the brand (Orange
Micro maybe?). It works perfectly. No problem with either device. I've
also used the devices on a G3 Powerbook by using the iMate for the ADB
connection and a Keyspan USB to Serial adapter for the data connections.
That works well also.
