When you select an area (eraser, magic wand, etc) and delete, you are
actually left with a 1% K in a grayscale image.
This is a simple one, as mentioned in another post. If you click on the white color box you will discover that white is not set to zero but probably 1. Set all values to zero and you're all set. This is one of Pshops nicer "features"
