Larry,
I appreciate that the IT8 is not satisfactory, but before you launch into
building your own targets, would it be worth trying the GretagMacbeth DC
Color Checker? The target is especially designed for profiling Digital
Cameras and the colour patches have a matte surface which will overcome your
concerns regarding light reflection. (I am assuming that your software will
support the DC target)
