I find Epson injets capable of excellent proofs for LightJet and Lambda
output. Cross profile emulation isn't critical since they are both very wide
gamut devices; but good custom profiles for both devices are needed so that
the saturated colors are tied to the same Lab values, otherwise you will end
uo with different shades of red, for example, on the two devices... doing it
without custom profiles is certainly cheaper, and you might manage it, but
its by no means guaranteed.
