Stepping out of lurker mode... I have no trouble with my two displays
in Classic. I can open the monitor control panel and reset the
display profile without crashing. I've never had a Classic app crash
itself or the system when it accesses the second display. I'm on a
G4/450 AGP with the stock video card driving the main display and a
Rage Pro 128 driving the second display.
I don't know why you're getting those crashes, but here's at least
one data point indicating that it's possible to run two monitors
without a problem in Classic.
