Two possibilities that may remedy this;
1) throw out the Colorsync cache file. It's just a pre-made list of the
frequently used profiles and placement.
2) copy the SWOP V2 from the Application support> Adobe > color> to the
Colorsync profiles folder. I can't remember if Photoshop 5 had profiles in
it's root folder /required or not.
The original US Web coated profile is different than the V2.
