This may seem like a rudimentary question, but I have a file that was
separated into CMYK in Photoshop 6 using an ICC profile (US Web Coated
(SWOP)v2) with Relative Colorimetric intent. When this same file is then
opened in Photoshop 5.02 I get a profile mismatch warning, even though the
same profile is specified in the CMYK setup window in v5.02. Conversely,
Photoshop 6 does not give me a mismatch warning if I open a file that was
separated in v5.02. Is it because of the difference between the two CMM's?
This seems to break a fundamental color management rule with regard to
tagged files. Any ideas? I'm a little concerned because I'm getting
mismatch warnings when I'm not supposed to.
