A friend of mine asked me the following:

its installed USB card? I used to be able to print happily to it

But that didn't work...then I got more info on my friend's system:
<<The printer is attached to a third-party USB card in my 7300
running Mac OS 9.1, and I'm trying to print to it from the G4 on my
ethernet network, running Mac OS 10.1.
When I installed the Epson software under Mac OS 10, it showed no
interest in finding an Epson printer by name or anything else.
The printing options in OS X are for:
AppleTalk
Epson AppleTalk
Epson USB
USB
I've tried them all... >>
Suggestions?
Thanks...

I'm not an OS X expert, but - I've read on the OS X discussion list
that the OS itself does not accommodate printer sharing via USB
connection. Maybe this is relevant?
