A friend of mine asked me the following:
<<I've installed Mac OS X on my G4, and installed the updated driver. But it still doesn't
appear on my list of printers. Is this because the printer is hanging off the old 7300 and
its installed USB card? I used to be able to print happily to it from the G4 because the
printer software could find it anywhere on the network. >>
And someone on the epson inkjet list suggested:
<<In system preferences in OS X, shut classic off--your driver will now work.
But that didn't work...then I got more info on my friend's system:
<<The printer is attached to a third-party USB card in my 7300 running Mac OS 9.1, and I'm trying to print to it from the G4 on my ethernet network, running Mac OS 10.1.
When I installed the Epson software under Mac OS 10, it showed no interest in finding an Epson printer by name or anything else.
The printing options in OS X are for:
AppleTalk
Epson AppleTalk
Epson USB
USB
I've tried them all... >>
Suggestions?
Thanks...
Terrie
