No, there is a trick here... Epson came up with the scheme of building a

but the idea is the same.
Last week when building some profiles at a customer's site I first saw the
Epson driver. Unfortunately I did not get any good results profiling the
1270 there as I did not overcome the ridiculously high dot gain but I will
see if I can reproduce the results on our Pro7000 (which as I found out can
be addressed directly through a very similar-looking printer driver).
Otherwise I will have to recommend him buying some RIP software (which tends
to be Best Designer Edition).
Back to the subject: After writing a profile for the printer I found that
this profile appears in the ColorSync dialog inside the printer driver. As
there were a couple of other RGB-based output profiles on the computer I
think it depends on the finder name of the profile (which in my case simply
began with "EPSON").
What remains unclear to me is when I am allowed to select an output profile
(of type prtr -- not link!) there has to be an input profile which i cannot
select. As I think there are no profiles in the Quick draw data from the
application the driver has to choose a profile.
Hopefully I can find out how to control this remaining (and IMO very
important) parameter.
Best regards,
Jo Euler
