I had looked at Dons site and I am interested in his Scan Target. This is
one of the reasons for my original post.
Wow! Don should thank me for my original post.
I am aware of the perils of IT8 degradation. Even Dons charts are subject
to it. He writes on his Site
http://www.hutchcolor.com/HCT_overview.htm
Under requirements," To achieve the full benefit of using the HCT it must
be in good condition, without fading, staining or other damage."
With that said, How do you know when your chart is faded? This leads to the
3rd question of my original post. Even the IT8 G-60's are subject to this.
How often would you replace them? Without the use of a transparency
Spectrophotometer how could you be sure when too replace them?
Is there a base schedule that would consider age and the UV beaching that a
Scanner Target will endure that could be used as a guide line for the non
transparency spectrophotometer owner to follow.
Hopefully someone has an opinion even if it is not a fact. A good educated
guess from an experienced transparency spectrophotometer owner would be
great.
