There are RIPs available and have been for some time. Check out a
forthcoming article in Digital Output about this from none other than me!

Not if you know how to use Gretag's iQue product.

True Hexachrome has been around as long as color management (ain't that a
laugh) but there are more tools available for conversion and proofing lately
then before. Maybe that's why Monaco, Gretag, Scitex, and ColorBlind offer
multi-channel ICC profiling today? ColorBlind and Monaco are old hat to the
Hexachrome thang while Gretag and Scitex have put much development into
these areas. My only assumption is that there is a need for multi-channel
ICC profiles for all of these manufactures rushing to offer this capability.
