Pete,
I don't know about the Nikon scanner driver you use but when you open that
image in PS, you want to associate with your Nikon scanner profile, that is
made for the type of emulsion you scanned.
I would archive the scan with that scanner profile but for handing off to a
third-party, you would be wise to convert over to AdobeRGB or some other
large color space like EktaSpace or BestRGB or ProPhotoRGB, converting
RelCol no BPC.
