I have a problem with PS 7.0 which I can not find a cure for and I was
advised to pose the question here. When an image is ready for printing
and is perfect on the screen as soon as I go to "print with preview" the
display box in "print with preview" shows the image with 10% to 15%
desaturation and this latter is what is printed to my Epson 1280 giving
a lackluster image. This occurrence did not happen in PS 6.01 prior to
my upgrading to 7.0. My system has all the correct numbers and settings
in my color profile, 21in. monitor and color corrected with Optical
Spyder.
This past week I have upgraded to a new computer and installed a clean
edition of PS 7.0 (though an upgrade) on the new machine and tested the
"print with preview" with no printer drivers installed on the new
machine and the same "desaturation" is occurring.
I have spoken with Adobe at great length about this occurrence and
they said that they were aware of it but had no idea as to how to
correct the situation and that the new "engine" in PS7 is at odds with
the Adobe RGB (1998) setting in the "Color Settings" section of the Edit
menu.. I have no problems if I go to the "Color Match RGB" selection or
other selections as the problem seems to be exclusively in the Adobe RGB
(1998) selection. Does anyone have any idea as to how to get rid of
this bug as all my work has been done in the Adobe RGB (1968) for the
widest gamut?
