Either that or sRGB might be a decent assumption. But really I wouldn't
worry too much about these prefs. The choices you make in Photoshop are
likely the only ones that matter right now. Not too many apps even take a
look at what your ColorSync prefs are anyway and, with the exception of the
display profile, don't mean a wit to Photoshop.

You'd hope that the image comes to you with an embedded profile,
particularly if it's RGB. If not, you get to play the guessing game on which
profile you should be assigning to the image. It's likely one of 3 possible
suspects but it's no guarantee. Assuming your monitor is
calibrated/profiled, you simply start assigning different profiles until the
image "looks right" or is what you think your customer saw on their end.
And if your digital camera profile is "wrong", this implies you know what
the "right" profile is. Right? Or am I wrong? :-)

Keep in mind that this always takes at least TWO, likely three, profiles to
accomplish this. You'd have the profile describing what color space the
image is in now (source or "working space" profile), where it's going
(desintation/output profile) and a profile of your monitor so the preview in
Photoshop is accurate.
