Hello,
What should be used in the Preferences / ColorSync settings on OS X:
Device Profiles
Input: digital camera? Don't know about this. I set it to AdobeRGB for now.
As far as I know my digital camera's embedded profile is wrong anyways.
Also. In a prepress scenario, how would I know where the image came from
anyways? The input option is the one I least understand.
Display: my monitor
Output:
Proof:
What is the difference between Output and Proof? Is output e.g. a press and
proof the proofing device (e.g. Kodak Approval?).
Or is output the professional proofing device and proof the cheapo inkjet at
home? And does it make any difference which one is which?
How about the document profiles?
And last but not least, which applications actually use these settings? I
would imagine Photoshop does to some degree, and Quark doesn't (in classic).
I like to tackle color management in 2 steps. First at home by getting an
acurate preview on screen of what would come out of my HP inkjet, and
second, at work to predict what would come out of our Kodak Approval.
Thanks,
Arnold
