Honestly, at this point, I have not seriously considered a rip because we are still fighting with our
Epson 7000 (with Indelible Inks) and banding in the black ink. Imation (the Epson service company) has
been here 3 times, they've changed the heads and fiddled with the paper advance mechanism, all to no
avail (but the other 5 colors do look better, but the black is now worse). I have been in extensive
talks with their Pro Graphics Group supervisor, and I think we are about to solve the problem.
Anyway, until this is all settled (and it's been going on for 6 months), I have not looked seriously at
RIPS, but when I hear $2500 prices, I don't look any further.
I'm glad that we are in some sort of agreement though. Thank you for all your thoughts on the subject.
