Thanks to all who have helped so much in my printer
profiling and understanding of color management!
I have another question to ask...
I have profiled the Epson 10000 with Gretag's i1. I
printed through Mac OS9 (as you have to do because
there is STILL no driver for OSX) while in Photoshop.
My output was not good. The reds were terribly
orangey...gamut was incredibly compressed. Compared
with a print I made on the same printer with NO
profile under Win2K and Photoshop 6, the profiled Mac
print just doesn't cut it.
My question is...could Colorsync or the Epson printer
driver be interfering with (double profiling) my
output? Or is it possible that I have a bad Gretag
spectrophotometer? (I did wait overnight after
printing and before profiling to let the inks dry...)
Any ideas? Or should I just give up on this new and
outrageously expensive Mac I just bought which was
supposed to be the Image Maker's dream machine? Or
should I sell the Epson 10000 and buy a 9600?
Still Frustrated...
Cathy
