It's an "ink" thing. The whole world on manufacturing and selling ink is
based on the premise that people judge color by a window, and "window"
lighting appears more like D65. That's the answer I got from a famous color
scientist working for Sun Chemicals. Apparentely, not an ounce of ink on
this earth made for printing is ever matched for D50 : it's all matched for
D65. So, it would explain why the PANTONE Color Cue is D65-based -- it's an
ink thing. PANTONE is an "ink" kind of company to me.
