Agreed, thats all handy; but it still fails to address my point about screen
proofing: if a device is misreading whites due to fluorescence, and the
software is compensating, this compensation is going to generate an estimated
paper tone which may not match what your eye sees. This does not effect
prints, only screen proofs. I'm familiar with how to compensate for this when
building profiles with ColorVision's software, where there is a feature to
edit the proof white on the fly as you make the profile; I was suggesting
that ProfileMaker might require similar editing, probably after the fact, to
acheive accurate screen emulation of media white since it is making
assumptions based simply on the paper appearing to be blue to the spectro.
The ability to turn this feature off is more than "nice"; for blue or
lavender tinted paper it would be critical; or the software would "correct"
the color out of your colored paper.
