Like Linda and Roger, I too use and highly recommend ColourKit Profilemaker
in my Colour Management Consultancy both here in the U.K. and in the U.S.A.
I am also able to retail it here in the U.K.
In the real world of highly critical clients, especially those working for
ad agencies, it is important to be able to edit profiles to the client's
requirements. CKit ProfileMaker's best selling point in my opinion is it's
superb and highly intuitive editing functionality. This editing is almost
identical to that in ColourKit Editor, which is primarily a scanner
software, driving the high-end Fuji flatbeds, where colour editing and
U.S.M. are on a par with the former and now sadly demised, Celsis drum
scanners. This Editor software is also available in stand-alone "Editor
Standard" form, where it is used to edit and process RGB images. This
software is especially popular with former Crosfield/Fuji (CMYK) drum
scanner operators, as they can relate to the editing controls, while working
on RGB images created on their drum scanners.
Incidentally Linda, you may have problems getting CKit V3 to install on OSX
on your PowerBook G3. I seem to remember you had a G3. Mine doesn't want
to know.
Merry Xmas to you all.
