Yes, when you want to convert RGB images to this space using "Mode
Change->CMYK" or if someone provides an untagged file that you hope to view
on screen going to that device you've profiled.

I always worry when I hear this from a shop so here is what I'd do. Use the
profile to do an RGB to CMYK conversion but don't embed that profile in the
files you give them or they will likely have a hissy fit. Since the
conversions were done using the custom profile (and I'm assuming it's a good
profile - accurate, and their device really behaves consistently based on
the profile, the resulting CMYK should be fine.
