Dear Andy and Lawrence
If the 3010 software is similar to the 3900 I'm used to (I'll asume it is)
then TIFF R is the absolute raw rgb file. It eliminates all gradation
curves, and any 'base settings' that change with every job setting. The
only thing that affects the scan directly is HL and SH density settings.
The gradation curves (H4, H5, etc) have no effect any more. You might have
better control over sharpness also.
If you want to know how to set up the workflow for using the raw scans from
scanner through photoshop let me know.
