Using DTP41 to read densities

I have the need to read the densities of a 21 step gray scale in CMYK.

Currently we are reading one square at a time and writing them down.

This is very time consuming.

Is there a software for the DTP 41 that will let me read a standard 21
step scale and print out the densities?

By 21 step I mean, 0 - 100 in 5 percent increments.

Or, is there s/w that will let me create my own scale and have the DTP
read it and print out the values?
