Thank you for you feedback on the Spectrocam. Is there a limitation with the
target layout it needs. Do you know much about the patch recognition it
uses. The EyeOne requires a large contrast/difference between adjacent
patches for it to recognize where one starts and the other finishes. Do you
know if the Spectrocam works in the same way?
Also I'm interested that you say that you would prefer a colorimeter to a
spectrophotometer for calibrating monitors. I've seen other people mention
this before. From what I understand a colorimeter is a tristimulus based
instrument. That is all you need for calibrating a monitor, but why would it
be better than a spectrophotometer? A spectrophotometer measures more
information than a colorimeter. It can measure full spectral data, and
generate tristimulus values from that. Surely its a step up from a
colorimeter. Is there a technical reason why a colorimeter works better for
calibrating monitors? And does the same rule apply for both CRT and LCD
monitors.
