One wonderful thing that was left out of OSX is USB printer sharing.
The only printers that can be shared across a network are postscript
printers.
Apple does have this as a feature request (according to my sources).
Inkjets that have PS rips are fine.
Why Star Wars is better than titanic.
We know Cal is the bad guy because he sneers at the poor and
treats his fiancee like property. We know Darth Vader is the
bad guy 'cause he strangles people & blows up planets for fun.

work though:
I'm on a small network, and we have a bunch of Epson printers that works
flawlessly on OS 9. We have, among others, an Epson SC900n (direct
Ethernet
connection to switch) and an 1270 which are connected to a server
running OS
9.1 / Apple share IP. Both these printers can usually be seen (in the
chooser part of OS 9) as a network printer, from the other machines...
However, none of these printers can be seen when using OS X (10.1). I
was
having doubts about the 1270 using the Epson sharing, but the Ethernet
networked one, I had hoped to be able to see. I've installed all the
newest
drivers of course, and tried out all the options in the Print Center
(AppleTalk, Epson AppleTalk etc.) but I can't get any of the printers to
show up. Everything works fine if I attach the printers directly via USB
though.
