After the initial love/hate relationship with OS X, I'm beginning to like it
as the old habits die out. There is one issue I can't figure out or get to
work though:
I'm on a small network, and we have a bunch of Epson printers that works
flawlessly on OS 9. We have, among others, an Epson SC900n (direct Ethernet
connection to switch) and an 1270 which are connected to a server running OS
9.1 / Apple share IP. Both these printers can usually be seen (in the
chooser part of OS 9) as a network printer, from the other machines...
However, none of these printers can be seen when using OS X (10.1). I was
having doubts about the 1270 using the Epson sharing, but the Ethernet
networked one, I had hoped to be able to see. I've installed all the newest
drivers of course, and tried out all the options in the Print Center
(AppleTalk, Epson AppleTalk etc.) but I can't get any of the printers to
show up. Everything works fine if I attach the printers directly via USB
though.
I guess I could use a bit of help here if anyone has any to offer...
Best regards
