I'm going to guess there might be a couple of things going here. Lack of a
printer profile being properly registered by the Epson driver, and the image
file maybe not having an embedded profile.
In the ColorSync preference panel, see if anything is listed for Epsons
under the Output popup. If not, that's problem one, which is a driver issue.
I'm not sure how to tell if a PDF has an embedded profile, but from your
description, I'm going to guess it doesn't have one.
If this is the case, you can manually choose a profile in the Output popup,
and choose a default RGB document profile in the Document Profiles tab and
this should get you back to the same output you had under OS 9.
