RE-Optical 3.5 and Red Cast in Photoshop
RE-Optical 3.5 and Red Cast in Photoshop

ColorVision has recently confirmed a bug in OptiCAL 3.5 Windows related to
this report. If you use the "Calibrate&Profile" or "Profile" commands from
the File menu then OptiCAL will create an invalid monitor profile. When
Photoshop uses this profile for displaying images on the monitor the images
become brilliant red/orange. As Michael points out, all the color displays
go wacky: the color picker, color swatches, foreground color etc.
The workaround is to use the "Calibrate" button in the main OptiCAL window
instead of the commands in the File menu. The "Calibrate" button does the
same thing as "Calibrate&Profile" in the File menu.
This bug is only in the Windows version and will be fixed in a future
version.
Regards,
Dana
