Thats correct. Printer profiles are three dimensional Lookup Tables where
each point on the 3d grid can be adjusted. Monitor profiles are generally
matrix based, meaning you can only define the three primaries and the
whitepoint, plus the gamma. The part of the monitor calibration you need to
be adjusting are the corrections sent to the video card, which is most
effectively done by using OptiCAL and defining a custom target with the
tweaked RG &B curves needed to target your monitor as needed.
